I find that it helps to have a powerful magnet handy if one of the parts decide to relocate. I know that many people have found an errant safety detent ball, lost in thick carpet, with a magnet far faster than by searching by hand. Bullseye, your post reminded me of a flash of brilliance (or madnes...

The UCL is awesome, and I wouldn't go to the range without one (esp. because I generally take two "mark two and two quarter pistols and 7 mags, plus a bulk box of ammo or two to burn) because there would be wailing and gnashing of teeth if all those rounds had to be loaded in by hand. But on the oth...

This crops up fairly frequently on various forums ( http://tinyurl.com/neu29p ) The counter drone at WalMart is just reading the prompts on their side of the register. It is a silly policy, and a useless law, but don't bother arguing with the poor schmuck running the register in the sporting goods s...

Crap, I thought I had enough for a while, but now I realize that I NEED ANOTHER GUN!

It had better be another NAA mini, no room in the safe for much else.

Being a coward, I waited until the next morning and snuck it into the gun cabinet before she got up. Now it's "just another gun" Weak! Ma lets me out by myself and tells me If I think I really need something I should have it, guess that is why Nov 9th will be 52 years for us. Congratulations! That'...

What tool are you trying to get in there? I have has success with both a 90-degree scribe and a flat jeweler's screwdriver on two separate extractor upgrades. Cursing at it seemed to help, although my issues were with getting the plunger back after putting something between it and the claw, which a ...

George Orwell was a prognosticator and his vision becomes more real every day. Like it or not big government is here to stay. I consider it a civil duty to inundate these programs with white noise. For instance, while it is not illegal to transfer large sums of money between your own accounts, it d...

wouldn't be nice to open carry every once in a while just to show off your gun? If I open carried, I'd have to get a holster for "character display" I can kill two birds with one post here. http://www.examiner.com/x-3253-Minneapolis-Gun-Rights-Examiner~y2009m7d15-It-takes-a-gun-to-stop-a-gunman 1- ...

well, I'm thinking of a hot summer day. Would the poly frames start to soften up and become unreliable? H Seriously? Of course they don't get soft on a hot day ... it isn't made out of milk jug plastic or something. Perhaps you should read the text of the torture test I posted, if the frame didn't ...

Open carry is good for showing the public that guns don't just jump out of holsters and start shooting, but I wouldn't OC for my every day carry, because it gives up the "SURPRISE!" factor of CC. More of a political statement and public affirmation of rights than a SD plan. Not to say OC can't provi...

The stuff they are making these frames out of?
Not at any temperature you could reach by firing rounds through the gun in any reasonable scenario.
I'm not worried about the poly frames, what with reading about slide cracking in steel guns.

Kel-Tec or the LCP don't work for me. I consider polymer to be just a ten dollar word for plastic. I doubt I'd ever buy a gun with any plastic besides grips. Yeah, those plastic guns are junk. Nobody has done 10,000 round torture tests on them or anything. SA XD 20,000 round torture test, including...

Huh?
Meaning what gun do I generally leave the front door with? Or what gun I take on vacation?

Walther PPS-9 for either, assuming it is legal to pack there.

When you carry gun all of the time, you learn to dress a little different. Most new gun toters are very self conscious and want to dress like they did before, you have to adapt. I'm lucky, cargo pants/camp shirt/light undershirt has been the standard BFD uniform for about a decade already ... addin...
