If you are referring to the firing pin "spur" on the front of the hammer, the answer is, yes, it should be somewhat loose..

Had a 98 singles,(TF), 82 handicap,(SF) and a 90 doubles (RF)...270 with no x's lol...

My personal preference is to not alter a '50's S&W classic like the k-38, especially one prior to the model numbering (1957?) A.K.A Target Masterpiece. If I was to "build" another PPC gun with a Bo-mar or Aristocrat rib, I'd put a heavy barrel on a model 10....

Loading 12 ga shotshells. Picked up a 25# bag of #8.5 shot by the wrong end. Not even a vacuum cleaner will pick that up.... Believed Jim Rock about .357 magnum loads in a Merrill Sportsman pistol. Now I have to pull 50 200 gr Hornady jacketed bullets and dump all that 296.. :roll: AND 40 years ago ...

Ice heard of that. I will five it a try first. Last time I bought chore boy brass I for questioned by the medication squad!! Lol

Apparently its used for heating up crack..

Last night I shot it at 50 y. 4 shots covered by a nickel and then 3 " all over. Fun fun to shoot though.

In the original Colt SA and some clones there is no transfer bar or hammer block. These would fire if the hammer was hit hard enough. This the money cylinder ..
