Say it ain't so!

I hope this is not a "new & improved" CLP. The unique aroma (refuse to call it a smell) is as much a part of the CLP legend as the effective way it works. Similarly, the aroma for WD-40. Neither would be the same without.

SA EMP - 9 mm - Your thoughts?

Hello everyone. I have been saving all year with the goal of buying a new pistol. I have settled on the Springfield EMP in 9 MM as my choice. (The new S&W E-series 1911SC was my other leading choice). My favorite LGS set a competitive price and I plan to pick it up later this week. All the web posti...

GSG 1911

Perhaps the young man needs some help with his grip. Even a .22 LR pistol needs a good grip and stiff wrist to prevent FTE's. Field stripping and cleaning is not be a problem with this gun...very similar to a 1911 take-down. The $30 mag price tag is a little steep. But I have the same complaint abou...

GSG 1911 report

Hi, I thought I would provide a follow up. This gun has been totally reliable for me since last March... except once. I took the gun to the range about a month ago. After 2 rounds on the second mag went down range, the gun stopped running. The alloy barrel bushing broke across the bushing between th...

Another alternative to the Ruger / Kimber decision.

Hello Action. Welcome to GTO forum. I would like to offer up an alternative .. a 22LR pistol that is pretty close in weight, function, features.. even field strip methods.. to a traditional 1911. I own one and have been very happy with it. That is the (German Sports Gun) GSG1911. It is imported by A...

Puns, anyone

I will bite -
Is there a pun somewhere in this?..
"UPS isn't batting a thousand there, either."
Texas bookstore..? Texas Rangers in the World Series..? (and likely pennant winners)

Probably not. Just the way my brain tilts on occasion. :?

Charles, I am not a reloader myself. So I have no advice regarding that aspect of this thread. But I do have 2 comments; 1. I enjoyed your story. Thanks for sharing. 2. And I am surprised no one else here has commented about... "... because rat urine will do the same to a gun in its box" Now THAT is...

Thanks, Greener. PARA USA abandoned the 9 MM version of their LTC 1911 for the same reason...another gun I am glad to own and enjoy shooting. With all the interest lately in smallish, conceilable 9 mm pistols, perhaps PARA will bring it in their catalog.

M&P 15-22P wrapup

I thought I woudl follow up on this thread. I did get an email from S&W customer support. The pistol manufacturing was stopped due to insufficient sales.. in less than a year. That seemed like a fairly narrow opportunity to validate a new product. But even so, I am enjoying mine very much. And as a ...

new excuses

OK So from North Carolina through Virgina and all the way to NY State.. we can all have a legitimate excuse for those fliers on the range.. no more limited to wind, sun, gnats, etc.

Now we have... The Earth MOVED!

Registration screening - keep it as it is

My SIL uses one of those troublesome email services. He got the "banned" response and followed with an email to Bullseye / Admin. We understands the need for screening.. and the less-than-stellar reputation that some of these services have. John got his access established quickly following his email...

Subject matter experts ...

Wow. Even if that bit of guidance from Bullseye does not fix the problem.. It is still impressive - clear, precise, complete and easy to understand. And typical of the caliber of the support on this forum.

Good luck.

Educating the novices

Bullseye,
That summary explanation is excellent and provides any novice - or not so newbie - what one aspect of the shooting competitions are about.

I suggest that you make it a sticky on one of the forums here .. if not this one.

Grips on big revolvers

Greener 3.. Your comment about grips making a difference is on point. Two things that made an impression on me with that S&W 500. First, the "rubberized'" grip provides for a rock-solid hold on the gun but somehow provides a level of cushioning to take the edge off the felt recoil. That seemed a rem...
