Very cool, Charles. In my neighborhood I get to see the usual yard critters and an occasional deer wandering along the greenway.
What is that mountain / peak we see out your front door?
(thanks for sharing)

I concur that any supply that does reach the typical outlets (WalMart, G/Mtn, Dick 's SG, etc) is siphoned off thru the good-buddy network - or even a $20 'heads-up fee' to the stock clerk. I am in the - refuse-to-be-gouged camp (and boycott CDT.com). I have low expectations for next month's Dixie G...

Good for you, Ruger. I saw the ad in Raleigh's Thursday paper and made it to my local G/Mtn around 1 PM. Unfortunately, the supply for all .22 LR ... including .22 Mags.. was already depleted. I have about 1,000 rounds stashed but that is because I have mostly worked my centerfire pistols and long g...

Last year I re-read Mas Ayoob's book "The Gun Digest of Concealed Carry." He also cautions the reader about drawstrings and concealed handguns - jackets, sweatshirts, etc. He recommends removing the strings from the cover garment .. but he did not mention pajama bottoms and hospital gowns... probabl...

Hi A-G. Welcome to the GTO forum. You will get no OCD disparagements about keeping a firearm clean from this group. I for one will follow this thread and your subsequent posts with interest. But, admittedly, I will not ever consider such a mod to my Ruger 22/45. Please keep us informed.. good, bad, ...

Hi. At the risk of re-opening an old thread .. I do not own an SA XDs-9, but do own several SA handguns with which I am very happy. (my first handgun was an XDM - 9, 3.8" bbl) so I have followed this XDs issue with some interest. I found this You Tube video on the Military Arms Channel (MAC) that ma...

Charles - Kudos for taking the initiative and giving your time, tools and expertise to that young man. I have a similar experience. My son-in-law and I hosted a young man who was about to enter the Army... summer of 2012. He too never shot a firearm of any type. We sponsored a 2 hour session at our ...

I have watch all the prior seasons.. usually DVR'ing the shows so I can fast forward thru the clubhouse "drama" and the stupid 'nomination range' .. well the commercials, too. So, the format this season is much more focused... no fake team dynamics drama. Really glad to see they brought Gabby back :...

There have been recent posts in GTO about 'issues' on other forums. We have also voiced well deserved kudos for Bullseye's work as our moderater and host. This thread is yet another example of why GTO is THE BEST on the WWW. Yet again, Bullseye has demonstrated his willingness to help (and the other...

I am boycotting CDT.com. And have been since they initially declared they would stop selling black rifles (then reversed that policy after the customer backlash). Their current "sale" prices for ammo and any firearm look predatory in my estimate. So, 22 lr at 3 cents a round looks like the first CDT...

The pics opened just fine for me. I would give the S&W QA guy a failing grade for customer satisfaction and support. It would not take a lot of extra work to find a media app to open your photos. And that comment about the fact you are in Canada as a hindrance is totally bogus. But even so, I think ...

.. and +1 I think I have seen that "... and then magic happens" Mark 3 You Tune video. The guy's knuckles look like he is a martial arts expert as well as a p*ss poor video instructor. I gave up after watching it in Stop-motion and used Bullseye's masterful guide to get my Mark III upgraded the way ...

Thanks all. I had the same reservations as Bullseye and others about using the spent rounds (cases) bucket or trash can. I will ask at the range this weekend about a "duds" can / procedure. I have never seen one on any of the ranges but that seems like a good method. On one hand, it provides shooter...

Range Protocol - damaged live rounds?
Hello everyone. I was away from the furum for most of last year due to work and family distractions. Over the last 2 months, I have caught up on the postings and enjoy being back in your good company. At the risk of this being a really dull question... I shoot at a local outdoor range - pistol pits ...
