Ruger sent out a sear pin free of charge. While reassembling the gun the other day, I noticed that the sear spring was bent (most likely when the pin broke) and I should have had Ruger send one out, but didn't notice initially. I bent the spring back as close as possible, reassembled and all seemed ...

I don't think any quality red dot will be less than $100. I have the Mueller QS and it's in that $100 range. I agree. I just got lucky with the Pentax on clearance and it worked well for a couple of years. With Christmas coming up, I've got to buy for my kids and several other folks. I may have to ...

holo sight, red dot, etc.?

I've had an inexpensive Pentax Gameseeker holo-type dot sight on my Ruger MKIII for over 2 years. It was on a clearance sale and worked well until the glass broke a few days ago. It held zero fine and, although I only took aim at a few, never missed a squirrel or coon. Pentax customer service will r...

I could take a photo or 2 and email them to someone to post for me. I don't have anything like photobucket at this time.

thanks

I would like to see a picture of the fracture face if you have a macro capability with your camera. If it's a very fine surface on the face it's more than likely fatigue. Which brings up how a hammer rotating 90deg could fatigue a pin. It's no way pounding on the receiver with a mallet would fail a...

I installed the Clark bushing not long after buying the gun--probably due to reading about it here. I may do other mods in the near future, but the bushing alone made a HUGE difference in the feel and MY accuracy. Speaking of internals, I just slid everything into a ziplock bag as soon as I found th...

What causing the pin to break? Is a fatigue cycle from the hammer falling and resetting? Honestly, in my case I think it was the mallet "tapping" or darn near pounding to get the receiver off of the frame for cleaning yesterday. I haven't had it fully apart many times, but mine just isn't loosening...

I suspect the pin was broken while "tapping" with the mallet in order to remove OR reinstall the receiver. Mine has been apart several times, but just hasn't loosened up at all. I think that I will go ahead and order at least 2 of the sear pins--it could very well happen again. I've got another extr...

3 online retailers show out of stock, but the parts page on the Ruger website shows the pin for $2--about half of what the others were charging. I don't know about shipping, but it won't run without it.

MK III broken sear pin

Not exactly sure what happened, but found my sear pivot pin broken while cleaning this morning. The gun is dead in the water (or at least on the work table) until I can get another. Numrich shows "out of stock" (if I was on the correct page) so where else could I locate a new pin that is trusted by ...

I've never had a single issue with my Gen 4 (19) after maybe 700 rounds fired since I bought it new. I did, however, take them up on their "replacement" offer and just received it recently. After installing the new RSA, I ran 50 rounds through it and tossed the other in the Glock spare parts drawer.

Thanks, as always, Bullseye. Somehow I acquired an extractor in a tiny ziplock bag with "Ruger" written on it. Age and CRS prevent me from remembering exactly how I got it, but glad to know I can add it to the MK spare parts tray. The factory part has been flawless to date, but I don't fire quite as...

extractor question

Is the extractor for the MKIII the same as the one for the 10/22? I haven't owned a 10/22 in quite some time and don't remember for sure.

thanks
