Need a little help choosing a caliber.
I really enjoy shooting my .22LR. When I go down to the woods where I shoot it's not uncommon for me to go thru atleast a brick of ammo & sometimes two. I always pay a little attention to all my rimfires but usually my 10-22 & 22-45 get the most use. The last couple years I've been more & more inter...

You know greener that was a benefit that I didn't even realize until I took the gun down all the way to show my daughter how to detail strip it & it's a lot easier putting the hammer pin back in when you dont have so many parts to keep lined up in the correct position. The main reason I did mine is ...

What's the craziest thing you've seen while outdoors?
I know we've all had crazy things happen while we've been hunting or at the range or just outdoors in general. A lot of times those stories start out like "You're not gonna believe..." or "You shoulda seen....." or "You'll never guess what happened to....". I know over the years I've had several but...

I second that auto bolt release mod. That makes it a lot easier. Before you about have to be a contortionist to operate it without dropping the rifle. I was gonna do the nylon buffer but I went to 4 diff places & all the had were threaded all the way up. I'll check the local ace hardware today. I've...

I really enjoy the challenge of a little longer range plinking & because of the limitations of semi auto guns I'm thinking about picking up a barrel for my encore just for that. Maybe a .204 or .223 or 22-250 or something along those lines. Also I'd like to get into reloading along with some higher ...

Finally did my mag safety mod on mark lll
I finally got around to getting rid of the mag safety on my 22-45 mark lll & I must say that makes a fun shooting gun a whole lot more fun to shoot. And the way the mags shoot out of there now is awesome. And it's a breeze to tear down now. I can actually do it without having to refer to the manual....

Well I just came from the range & I think I've figured out my problem. It's a couple things I think. First off is ammo, I picked up a couple more different kinds today & I got pretty decent groups with CCI Mini Mags & some Win Super X Super Speed HV plated round nose bullets, the guy at the counter ...

10-22 accuracy problems (or me?)
I am by far no sharpshooter or expert markma. I have been shooting for over 35 years, hunting just a few years less than that. I have always considered myself a good shot as I could always hit where I was aiming. I know my limitations & my guns limits & stay within that. That being said, lately I ha...

Ruger22 Shhhh. Don't give her any ideas. Oh wait a minute, too late. Yeah I have the replaceable grip model & she has already mentioned that about the pink grips. Also, she wants me to build her an AR in .223 & she wants me to do some pink powdercoating on it. So if she keeps her grades up & her nos...

I'm planning in getting at least a sear for my 22/45 & doing the pre travel set screw mod & the mag safety removal mod here before too much longer. When I read in those posts that removing the mag safety lessened the trigger pull, I couldn't see how that was possible. I thought maybe I was missing s...

Couple questions from a newbie
This is my first post on this forum but I have been reading a lot of good info on here the last couple of days. But there were a couple of comments that I did not quite understand. One of those comments is regarding the mag safety. Ive read a couple posts regarding removal of the mag safety in the m...
