Being a lifelong resident of Alabama (the Heart of Dixie), I didn't realize the first 2 options were even available.

steel

This may be the wrong forum for this, but I'm looking to construct a backstop for my home range and had a question or 2 regarding steel. This will be for handguns and rimfire only. What type/thickness steel is needed for my situation? Also--how about angle? Should it be dead upright or canted toward...

I tried out the 9# spring today. Typically could fire 7 of 9 DA and 8-9 or 9 SA. Great trigger pull for a revolver but too many light strikes. All the rounds that didn't fire could be put back in the revolver and fired. Looks like I try to find the a 10-11# spring or put the original back in. The 1...

I've got 3 J-frames--one with a Crimson Trace, another with a chunky Hogue, the last with the black, factory, boot-style. They all have their place and purpose, but (at least for looks) those have mine beat by a country mile.

Apparently every penny saved in manufacturing means the world to Ruger. I kinda wish they'd just go up a dollar or 2 instead of skimp on the details. The 10/22, for example, just gets a little cheaper made every year or so. Silver painted receivers and plastic parts--where do we go next? The Bearcat...

Well I bought the new G19 yesterday. I've yet to fire it, but I did spend "2 episodes of Sons of Guns" last night getting the feel of it. I had gotten rid of all of my centerfire semis and haven't had one in over a year--looking forward to sending several downrange with this one.

less aggressive grips, recoil spring issues that are apparently non-issues, a trigger that gets better with time without replacement

so far sounds like the gen 4 model 19 is the gun for me

thanks again

Glock gen 3 vs. gen 4

I've been kicking around getting a new Glock 17 or 19. Never having owned a Glock, I've done a few minutes of research and found some internet "chatter" regarding the gen 4. Some don't like it as well as the gen 3 and some have gone so far as to call it junk. I know that a company can never make eve...

WTB: Marlin 1894c .357

I've been wanting a lever-action carbine in a handgun caliber for many years and the recent purchase (from a friend) of a Marlin 39M (mountie) has just fueled the fire. I've got three .38 caliber revolvers and plan to get into reloading that and .357 soon so the .357/.38 rifle just feels like the ri...

I just starting going to gun shows here recently. They are a ton of fun and I have to admit (my buddy taught me the ropes) to being somewhat of a vulture. I bought a 10/22 from a man as we both were walking in. I sold it for $85 profit about 90 minutes later. My buddy, on the other hand, was offered...

I've heard for a while now that "chlorine-free" brake cleaner is a good alternative to syn-safe gun scrubber (at less than half the price). I'll be trying some soon for the actions on a couple of semis. Regular brake cleaner may be rough on plastics.
