Stork, what barrel length Ruger do you shoot? I have the 5.5, and like it, but am curious about how it would feel and differ, shooting one of the longer barrel models.

I have seen people I shoot with in league fire two shots, then set the gun down, as you described. I actually just shot in a 900 match yesterday, my league holds one 900 match each season for the league members. I was shooting pretty good, I had some targets with some loose shots, but was following ...

Most Ruger .22's are pretty good about shooting any ammo. I agree to stay away from the hyper velocity stuff, not worth the risk of damage. The two Rugers I have owned were both very reliable. The first gun had some cycling problems from time to time, so I installed a Volquartsen extractor, from the...

I own a copy of The Pistol Shooters Treasury, great book, and I have probably read the book three or four times. What I like about the book the most, is you get to read personal experiences and techniques from some of the best to ever shoot bullseye. For me it helps a lot to read about how even the ...

Thanks for the replies, I do agree the longer you hold on slow fire, the better the chance of a bad shot. I have been trying to speed my slow fire up a bit, and I think it does help. When you guys shoot slow fire, do you consciously apply pressure to the trigger when you decide it's time, or do the ...

bullseye shooting/slow fire

I am seeking any help or advice on shooting slow fire(this question would be mostly for the bullseye shooters), I have always struggled the most with slow fire. The league I shoot in sends out weekly e-mails with the match results. I have been saving these e-mail since I started shooting, and recent...

American Classic 1911

I was wondering if anyone owns, or knows anything about the American Classic 1911's? They are priced pretty low, just wondering if they are any good.

I have never used steel wool, but sometimes a rag and oil is enough. A while back I decided I needed to do something with my gun safe to prevent rust on my guns.My basement, where the safe is, can get damp. I have a bunch of my Grandfathers old guns, most don't get used as often as I would like, so ...

I shot my Ace recently, and it really got me thinking about getting a Marvel again. I don't really want to use the Ace frame, but am kind of overwhelmed about buying a frame, and all the parts. Unless I could find a good deal on a complete gun to use, building a dedicated frame seems like the way to...

It seems like it is working just as well as the old stuff, I was a little skeptical at first, but I think it is still good stuff.

I thought from the first post he made, this was not the right forum for him. It didn't surprise me that his comments went in the direction they did. I'm only 25, and he seemed pretty immature to me, but everyone is different. If he didn't like what he found here, I don't know why he continued to pos...

On my brothers Buckmark the manual did say to remove the barrel, but I ran into the same thing, the screw didn't want to budge, and with the frame on the Buckmark being aluminum, I didn't want to damage the threads. I can't remember exactly what I did, but you don't need to remove the barrel, it was...

I called Break Free today to ask about my CLP not having the same odor. I told the woman I spoke with that my new can didn't smell it all the same as the old stuff, she described the old stuff as having a citrus smell, and asked if mine had a almond smell. I never thought the original had a citrus s...
