I will seek out Bobby Costas' opinion on weaponry just like I seek out his opinion on motorcycle maintenance and selecting the proper shovel to move pig feces.

Just because someone has a microphone doesn't make their opinions worth listening to.

RRA has been "just about to make" that polymer 1911 for a while. There are a couple polymer doublestack frames out there already. Personally, I like polymer pistols - - but I change out the poly mainspring housings on my 1911s for steel, it just seems wrong on that platform. Grips as well, they shou...

Weapon in holster = more safe Weapon not in holster = less safe Holster off belt = pain in associated to put back on belt in cramped stall Those negligent discharges are also direct results of junk carry gear and stupidity. Dropping a few deuces at home with the gun on was all I needed to figure the...

and as for the old man shooting as the bad guys fled that could be a sticky spot for the old man unless he could explain that he believed that the robbers presented an immenant threat to society at that time. When the armed robbers drop their weapons and surrender, they're not a threat. Until then,...

I don't see the big deal. With a quality belt and holster an all-steel gun can just stay on the belt and get covered by your shorts.

For me, I wouldn't have opened fire at the point he did because I don't think the bg's were going to shoot anybody, but just rob them. You're too trusting. Depending on the kindness of strangers is one thing, but when those strangers are threatening you with deadly force, you can stop expecting the...

I found the previous style to be fairly simple and mobile-friendly.

It was low contrast, though. I'll give this a try and see how it looks on desktop & Android for a bit.

For more challenge put up a target (5" ball or smaller) on a 3' string, after the first shot you have 10 sec to empty the mag and see how many hits. I can hit 8 out of 10 with my MKIII at 25yrds pretty consistently. But with my center fires it's a lot more challenging. Find a really shot-out cardbo...

Accurate guns are for showing off I was cutting heads and limbs off of zombie targets (with one of our somewhat modified mkIIIs) last range trip, and the folks a few lanes over were putting up bigger bullseye paper targets Then I started doing the same with a Walther PP I recently acquired, and fina...

Those look pretty good.
I sometimes think about new mkIII grips, but the stock set works - which makes the cost hard to justify.

Steel is an alloy made by combining iron and other elements, the most common of these being carbon. When carbon is used, its content in the steel is between 0.2% and 2.1% by weight, depending on the grade. Other alloying elements sometimes used are manganese, chromium, vanadium and tungsten. from: h...
