Holding the hammer back with the left thumb is though when there is a high bever tail on the grip safety but it can be done but feels awkward. Thinking about shooting the IDPA for fun and learning at our range but if this requires a magazine change don't know if this method would work. If the sear r...

The trigger does not seem to be any lighter. It is just around 3#. The hammer does drop when you slam on an empty chamber, but not all the time. Thanks for the input. I did not know to hold back on the hammer when releasing the slide to project the sear and parts, but it makes sense. I am trying to ...

1911 hammer falling
I have a Kimber gold match that a couple of years ago had a well known gunsmith perform a trigger job to lower down to around 3#. I have not shot it that much becuase of 45ACP costs since I have been shooting my 9mm. Yesterday after cleaning I noticed that when you lock the slide open and then relea...

I installed the VQ sear. I tried to keep the new separate from the old but at one time might of mixed them up. I belive the VQ sear is installed and I shorted the over travel so the trigger is just a tad from bottoming out and the hammer still clears the sear. Would the OEM sear work with a VQ hamme...

VQ Trigger Overtravel screw question
Decided to wait on the Clark Trigger and install the VQ instead. Did not want to fit at this time. Once the pre-travel screw was adjusted to take the creep not a lot of room left fom the trigger to the frame, about 1/8". Has anyone installed the VQ and not installed the overtravel? I installed but w...

Clark Trigger Question
Received my parts for my MKIII 22/45 make over. Went ahead and ordered the VQ MKII kit along with the Clark trigger and bushing kit. I like the feel of the Clark Trigger but noticed that it does not come with a pre-travel screw like the VQ trigger. Comments from someone on how much trigger travel wi...

I thought that I was getting it and now I am confused. Maybe someone needs to slap me. What is the difference between the two Clark bushing kits 515 and 517? If I am using the MKII hammer in a MKIII 22/45 why would I not use the 515 bushing kit but still use the OEM hammer pin? I want to eliminate t...

Slingshot Question on MKIII 22/45
The information gained from this forum is great. Performed my first detailed Stripping and Reassembly and it went great. Decided to perform the Slingshot modification but when you pull the bolt back with mag in and it locks open and then you drop the mag and then try to slingshot the bolt the bolt l...

Mark III 22/45 Accurizing Clarification
I have been through every post under the rimfire section but still confused about the use of the VQ MKII #VC2AK accurizing kit for the MKIII 22/45. It sounds like you can use this kit in the MKIII 22/45 for trigger, hammer and sear but question is about the magazine disconnect. If the MKII hammer is...
