I have similar experience with my CZ97B. It will function with any factory ammo and most of my reloads. I have had issues only when I try to shoot my BE reloads in it.
I shoot my CZ97B for IPSC.

Hi Adam

A friend of mine bought a Kimber recently. She was told to shoot about 500 factory rounds for it to settle down. What does Springfield recommend?

Sight picture

Great thread Bullseye, When I started shooting a few years ago, our coach made us shoot on blank white paper without any bull. I beleive it reinforced some good qualities in us, like proper stance, sight alignment & trigger release. In his words, Sight Alignment is more important than Sight picture....

Is that the stock spring? I called Springfield gave them the serial of my gun, since it was custom built they were able to find the records and gave me the the recoil spring weight which was 15lbs.
It may be a good idea to check with them.

Hello Bullseye

What about your recoil spring? I used to have issues but then a fellow shooter suggested to change the spring once I changed from stock 15lb to 12lb spring, it started working well.

Reloading 45

I also shoot a Springfield 1911A1 Custom BE wadgun. It has a bomar rib sight & 12lb recoil spring.
I use 200gn LSWC and 3.3 Gn of Bullseye powder. We only shoot the 25 yard line and this mild load works very well for me.
