Bullseye is correct in that there are different levels of sear engagement understanding required, for varying expectations on how the trigger should perform. The areas I define for my triggers are: 1) overtravel; 2) pretravel; 3) sear surface polish; 4) sear engagement measurement; 5) sear engagemen...

Trigger systems are interesting pieces of mechanics, and I've rebuilt many different kinds, with varied results. I put a match trigger kit in a Springfield XDM, and reduced the sear engagement to .040", and it bench-tested just fine. Then I did the pencil test (pencil with eraser against the firing ...

I've got access to a TIG welder, so I'll build up the safety notch and re-cut. It didn't surprise me that this might happen, as the factory tolerances allow for some "slop" in the action parts. When those tolerances are minimized, then the "slop" can be too much for other parts to handle properly. I...

In the red can, there is enough solvent to clean a gun quite nicely. Basically, I spray everything I...

Have you tried the Remington Golden Bullets? They are very uniform in shape and diameter, and mine measure .224". I'm going to shoot them in league this spring.

I'm new to this forum, as I'm a regular on the rugerforum.com. I shoot a lot of different Rugers, and lately I've been getting into a league shooting competition at our local indoor range. I shoot a stainless Mark II 6-7/8" tapered target barrel pistol, and it shoots very well. Lately, I've been get...
