Well, there must be a "trick" do doing it easily because somebody at Ruger has to put the thing together before shipping. Ah, remember, this is a spare part. Wasn't in a gun before I got it. But, you're talking about new guns, like how could I have had that much trouble if somebody had put it toget...

I did take a small needle file to it, and it works just fine now. You don't have to worry about taking off too much at one time because it's hard metal. To take off too much at once, you'd have to use a grinder or really be a dope. The weird part of it is, I can't measure any difference, or see any ...

OK, here's a photo of the two side by side. The one that works (old one) is on the right. There's three things to notice about it (besides not being very good photo) http://www.nycestuff.com/ReCoil.jpg A is the overall length past the bottom of the U is longer. B is the very tip of it is more rounde...

It's not the semi-circular part. If you look at the recoil spring assembly, you'll see the U shaped tab. That's the semicircular part you're talking about. Then there's the rod that is surrounded by spring. They attach those two parts together, by cutting a slot in that rod and inserting that semici...

Assembly issue, haven't seen mentioned before
I've been shooting the heck out of my MKIII. I can strip it and put it back together just about blindfolded, everything just eases right into place. But, I've shot about 15,000 rounds through it now, and the rebound spring lost a couple of coils (but still worked), and I did a MAJOR boo boo that bus...

Yep, that's exactly it. But on my buttons, the edge is so square it's actually digging into, cutting or shaving the magazine. I didn't notice a problem feeding because the tilt is in the other direction, but I can see where that would be a problem. I use a small rectangle of wood with another rectan...

Mag Mod.....
I always had a problem with the Ruger Mark III mags. When you slide the button down, it's just a rough grinding feel to it. I notice a lot of wear where that button slides too. Here's the issue. The face of the button that slides against the surface of the magazine case has a very square edge to it....

I found out what the problem is, to a degree.... When you remove the mag "safety" items, you need TWO washers. The problem is that the hammer now shifts on the bushing, from side to side a bit more. So when you assemble it, you also need to make sure the piece that goes into the mainspring is now ce...

I'm sure I can use one (or two). Mine has always felt like something was in there. The hammer just doesn't move as freely as I would like. Almost like there was some sort of small grit in there somewhere. I don't see how that bushing can cause all the problems I was having though. Mostly all main sp...

Assembly problems
I removed the magazine safety. I put a small washer in place of the safety to take up the space where it used to be. Just a small washer, hand made to fit right. But now, after cleaning, I have a horrible time putting it back together most of the time! It's back to like it was when I first got the t...

I had problems with ANY ammo hitting the feed ramp on a 22/45 I had. Drove me crazy, so I finally took that one back and got the SS Hunter Target. Not a problem since. One thing I was thinking of though. The Rem GB's do have a large "blast". Makes me wonder if they were designed for a rifle, or long...

There was a lot of this going back and fourth on another forum. I thought the bulk pack Federal's were better, until I actually tried the Golden Bullets. Turns out, over all, they were the better bullet! And the funny thing is, after listening to everybody tell everybody else how bad they were, I wa...
