That barrel on the right which you said is GI immediately caught my attention as I'd never seen anything like it before. All the GI 1911A1s, including an occasional M1911, I'd come across including that time when I lucked out and was issued a brand-new one that came straight from Ordnance storage in...

Maybe it was not really broke in the first place so it did not really need fixing. Some guys like to have things modified just to say that it is trick , My guns work as a result they are not played with just shot a lot. I have 3 SA 1911's a full size a V-10 and a Micro, all the guns will deed most ...

OVERTHROATING?

OVERTHROATING? A friend had his Para 16.40 "fine-tuned"- his words - by a gunsmith. Who, apparently, turned out to be a "gonesmith." These are the results: http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm277/Lyan_0812/Para046.jpg http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm277/Lyan_0812/Para050.jpg http://i298.photo...

ELECTRONIC AMMO BEARER

ELECTRONIC AMMO BEARER Doesn't this remind you of Star Wars?... See Robomutt in action in the You.Tube clip in the link below. Kinda creepy. It will probably be in the moon and Mars long before man. BIGDOG The Most Advanced Quadruped Robot on Earth BigDog is the alpha male of the Boston Dynamics fa...

Thanks, Bullseye!!! No, I haven't come across it yet, and I'll get right down to it: my little group is getting ready for a reportedly prime area for deer-bear-band-tailed pigeon. And of course, rattlers. However, I'm strictly a pot hunter, and I got no hankerin' for bear steak. So Brother B'ar is s...

"SNAKE MEDICINE"

"SNAKE MEDICINE" With hunting season hoving into view and remembering that sign "BEWARE OF RATTLESNAKES" at one of our ranges hereabouts, I'm thinking of brewing up a batch of snake medicine in .357 and .45 ACP filled with 7-1/2 shot. I wonder if y'all can recommend your brews? Can't find any in my ...

SHOTSHELL RELOADER

SHOTSHELL RELOADER I want to start reloading 12-ga shotshells. I've been reloading for 10 years now- mainly .45 ACP's and two rifle calibers. With the cost of gas and since hunting is far and few in-between anyway, I guess trap shooting is the next best thing to do to get some wingshooting done. I'...

FMJ VS JHP

I've always loaded my 1911 with FMJs for home defense to minimize feeding problems. In a recent hunting jaunt, however, a companion pumped three FMJs into an Angora ram when he ran out of arrows    and the animal was still running in front of him with an arrow sticking from its ribs, ...

LAPTOP PROBLEM Is your laptop giving you headaches? Alway having glitches? Show that darn contraption just who is the boss. Fix it yourself--- for good!!! Try this solution: I've had it with this laptop. I tried to fix it, but I guess I didn't do such a good job  . Wonder if it would still be...

SMOOTHENING A BOLT

SMOOTHENING A BOLT

A friend has got a brand-new Mosberg ATR .30-'06 bolt action.

However, its bolt feels very gritty.

We're thinking of using very fine steel wool the type used in smoothening wood stocks. Any other suggestion? Thanks.
