WTB: EEA Witness rear sight

A couple of us EAA shooters need original fixed (or adj) rear sights for EAA Witness Mod EA9. This is the full sized 9mm gun made before 2005.

Some one must have a couple stuck in a drawer somewhere --- pull them out will ya.

Thanks.

ruger22: I really like the looks of the new Volquartsen disco with the round pin riding on the trigger plunger. However, I very gently rounded the trailing corner on the tab of my original design discos and can't see the need to invest in a new one. I too have a few "too-short" screws for the trigge...

Sorry I'm late to this party; however, for general information , if I may: Numerous members of our gun club have used various 22lr upper conversions for 1911s. One way to help a nose-down feeding problem is to install a higher 1911 mag catch. EGW (EGWguns.com) sells a mag catch with a higher (only ....

22/45 Hammer pin

I noticed in the Ruger maintenance section of this website that the "click here" reference to the new style 22/45 hammer pin (with the head on it) is displayed in both the MKIII and the original (MKII?) dis/reassembly sections and pictures. Have I missed the boat? I thought that the new style hammer...

Roger that, greener! Very fortunate to have a generous friend to help me in this comparison. Shooting each gun one after another really helped me form my own subjective opinions not only about the guns but about my own gun preferences. Didn't try a few mags through the 7" barrel for the 22 S because...

Had a chance to shoot a number of guns at the range to compare the S&W 22 S-1 5", S&W Model 41 7", custom Ruger 22/45 6 7/8", and 1911/Marvel conversion 5". The Ruger has a trigger pull of approx 2.4 lbs. while the others were all a bit above 3 lbs. each. All four guns were 100% reliable. The Ruger ...

WTB: Rear low profile sight for Ruger

WTB LPA (or other mfg) adjustable low profile rear sight for Rugers to use with standard barrels so I won't need to file down any more front sights.

Will consider any other brands (e.g., Millett) if they are same excellent quality as LPA.

Thanks.

bgreenea3: I have only owned the gun a few weeks and fired a few mags of Federal bulk through it to ensure that it was functioning correctly knowing that I would take it down to the frame. Now that the internals are as good as my limited skills can get them, I'll test a few different types of ammo a...

Well the thunderous silence on this subject is underwhelming! Therefore, I shall ad some info myself that I have discovered investigating these guns and disassembling the 22 S down to it's frame: (1) The 22 S is just a bit heavier than the 22 A: the S frame = approx 13 ounces while the A's frame = a...

A couple of members of another forum had good results using some sort of RTV sealant to stick Notaro grips to MKIIIs for the very purpose of avoiding drilling the frame.

Using the screws is the best way, however.

The MKIII 22/45 frames are way to small for my hands without extra grips.

Can't help with the question of hollowed out 1911 grips; however, an inexpensive alternative are grips made by Dominic Notaro www/tech-custom.com/ He sells grips for MKIII and original 22/45s which can be glued onto the frame or installed using screws. I bought a set for my original 22/45, screwed t...

Excellent point, Bullseye. I have Volquartsen (V) extractors in every Ruger rimfire that I own. Another plus of the V extractors is that they are strong enough to allow a press check to ensure that a round is in the chamber when reloading for the next stage of Action Pistol matches. The original Rug...
