So I had this little problem with the scope sliding on the grooves. To resolve it I got a conversion mount for air rifles from standard groove to weaver rail. It clamps the grooves about 3" on each side and I added a third screw to make it tighter. It also has a set screw down through the top to hel...

Favorite .22cal handgun

I have a few and I really don't know which could be called my favorite. I had this old high standard double 9 that was way fun to shoot but on single action you could push the hammer off with your thumb, so I only shot it double action and it had a horrible trigger pull. Problem is I still liked it,...

Well you know if you have something unusual then one shouldn't expect folks to provide a lot of info. I didn't. I just kept digging at various sites. Some posts I checked were from as early as 2000. When I found a post about the 260 I'd email the author and ask questions. A couple responded one guy ...

New info on old gun

Well Gents, I have found out a bit about this Kodiak 260. First off it was made some time between 1963 & 1966. It is stamped KODIAK, North Haven, Conn. USA Model 260 .22 WMR. No S/N. The butt plate has four circles like a target. It is tube fed and it is the first semi-auto 22 magnum. Kodiak made th...

Cheap mods for the 10/22

There are several that I like to do. The very first is installing a yellow jacket bolt buffer. I bought mine on ebay, now I think it is around $12 for two. These were the first ones that have stood up to the number of rounds I put through it over a year (+/- 10k) Next I install an automatic bolt rel...
