Hey Charles...
"... freezing fog.." That sounds interesting to me. I have never experienced that.
It might be a cool experience (pardon the awful pin) as long as it was short-lived.

Hope you have essential supplies on hand to last the duration. This has been a strange and bad winter for most of us in the southern states who typically only face a few bad winter days each season. The ground hogs around here got it wrong for sure. It looks to me like another 4 weeks of winter weat...

Several summers ago, my wife and I were visiting New York City.. (on my company's dime). Our tourist aganda included a ferry ride out to the Statue of Liberty. I was not expecting to have to go through a metal detector to board the ferry. They found my red, 1 inch long Victorinox (aka Swiss army) pe...

That is a big list of new internal parts. And although Ruger's test fire was successful, they likely did Not use Federal bulk HPs. I had a strange 'hitch' when cycling the bolt manually in my Mark III 22/45 for a while. That was resolved by a comprehensive field strip, cleaning and lube session. I t...

Stew, I have also noticed that the green lasers carry a premium on price versus red. I read a couple of articles in trade mags reporting that the green technology is a bit more expensive for the manufacturers. And the market demand / sales are tilted for the red. So for now, those of us with a prefe...

Well, we have gone a little 'off-topic' with this muddle about Greener's login woes. Bullseye, you do a fantastic job with this forum and we value you for your knowledge and readiness to share it... not your programming skills. So, Stew.. back on topic. Let us know what choice you make - if you get ...

I will support the 'zona Hermit in that the preference is per the shooter's eyes. My old eyes prefer Green in all light. I cannot see red on black very well. One - perhaps obvious - comment regarding self defense handgun lasers is that the shooter focuses on the target... rather than a front sight. ...

Charles, Thanks for the follow up and details. I agree that $600 is a competitive price for a new rifle in this class. I am not a hand-loader, so I would default to manufactured cartridges. But .223 are not overly expensive. I can usually find them at around $0.40 cents a round locally. It is clear ...

Charles, You did not specifically say whether this is a new or "used" rifle from the gun show. It looks REALLY good if this is a used firearm. I do not own a bolt gun - yet - and this Savage model seems to be a good option. Especially since your criteria ("I wanted something cheap to shoot that woul...
