Stainless 22/45 Target Model ... and dry fire question
I was privileged to help at the Colorado State B.E. Championships last week end in our small town. Two shooters from the Olympic facilities in Colorado Springs and other exceptional shooters, including a High Master, were there. Among B.E. shooters using Rugers, I've yet to see the 5 1/2" Target Mod...

The best two choices then might be to remove the firing pin parts, keeping careful track of them while dry firing. Or, to buy another FP stop pin, use the extra stop pin along with the broken firing pin. The reason I may go with the second choice is that, with the firing pin out, I couldn't feel the...

Well, first off I have a broken firing pin. It's about 5/16" shorter than the one in the other gun and the surface is too rough to have been made that way. The front of the FP doesn't come close to the bolt face. Didn't set off a round when I took it the the range just now. It's the original pin, no...

Different firing pins in two Mk II era 22/45s?
My two Mark II era 22/45s have different firing pins? In more ways than one. Both guns were bought new at Salt Lake City gun shows in 2005 The blued firing pin from the slab barreled gun is 1 7/8" long. The stainless firing pin from the 5 1/2" stainless Target Model is only 1 9/16" long. What concer...

Thanks to both of you for your very well informed and detailed input. I will be careful to protect these guns. They're all I've got as a whole new world of bulls eye shooting is opening up. The most experienced local shooter recommends dry wall anchors but says he moves them after every shot, gettin...

Help w Mk II 22/45 for bulls eye competition
I'm having to use an old Tasco Pro Pt II on one or another of my MkII 22/45s to try to shoot the NRA 900 event. The game is new to me, challenging as all get out, and, frankly, I love it. But, I'm not close to getting my trigger finger / mind to act competently. 30 years of combat shooting with revo...

I should have a tube of Crosman PellGunOil by next week. Daisy's first recommendation is to use 20 weight non-detergent motor oil, but I haven't been able to find a small amount in this small town. The Crosman oil will cost less than a quart of motor oil and should be the right oil to use. But, I'm ...

The glasses are marked "Champion 160" and "Neostyle - Switzerland". I bought them around 1990 at Don Nygord's garage - shop when he was still in La Canada, CA. My right eye has astigmatism of 20 / 600, which was corrected to 20 / 25 three years ago by a small town optometrist in Utah. He was amenabl...

Champion Bullseye eye glass prescription ?
I'm going to attempt to become a bullseye shooter and have an old pair of Champion shooting glasses. My shooting eye has major astigmatism. I'm wondering what I need to know to have an optometrist create the best lens for me? Where the focus needs to be considering the small aperture that are a part...

First thing I oughta' do then is find the tube of oil that came with the pistol. It may be that easy since I haven't done even the basic maintenance before. If I can't find the Daisy oil and don'are their other kinds that would work well? I have the time, though, so I might wait for to find the orig...

I'm about to enter .22 (22/45) competition - my practice (ai
Time, money and the visitation of age mean that I'll be entering competition after 3 year's of no shooting at all, as a bullseye competetito. This is a real challenge because I've never been anything but really bad at bullseye shooting. My 30 + year old Daisy 777 air gun started tossing shots real s...

No, nothing brewing on the conspiracy front. Just a high volume shooter who likes to keep things spread out a bit, not all in one place. This is practice ammo and I guess it will do all right under wraps in the dry, clean cold. I don't expect Dec 21 to have much more meaning than usual, but we'll fi...

As I recall from a couple of winters back when we had a slightly more moderate winter than normal, temps ranged about 25 - 30 degrees in 24 hours - and often less. It usually remained below 10 degrees in the daytime. It's very, very dry - a major factor in being livable. This summer it didn't get up...
