S&W 642--I have 3--two with Crimson Trace laser grips. I carry one , my wife carries one and one is in the bedside quick-access gun safe. Snap caps and a lot of trigger time will both strengthen the hand and smooth/ lighten trigger pull (at least somewhat).

Ruger GP100 .357 for sale (SOLD)

Stainless 6" Ruger GP100 .357, adj. sites, with original box, manual, etc. (serial #172-*** made in 1990) has light handling marks on the wooden grip inserts, but otherwise in very good condition. This gun has the lightest, smoothest double-action trigger I've ever felt and full-power .357 magnums f...

I've kicked around buying a 22A myself--just haven't pulled the trigger so to speak. That 22S sounds even nicer.

good luck and keep us updated

charlesb, "odors" also are big players when it comes to childhood memories for me as well. I often used 3 in 1 oil on various projects growing up and remember simpler times whenever I get whiff. Along those same lines, one of my most favorite was the smell in the air when firing my grandfather's Mar...

I heard about this about a month or so ago on the Gun Talk radio show with Tom Gresham and your link is the first time I've actually seen the product. I'd put it right up there with Hornady's Zombie Max ammo. There are a TON of young and first time gun buyers/owners coming into the market right now ...

I've never owned a 40 and don't feel outclassed or undergunned in any way. My 9, .223 and .22 caliber stuff is just as fun (if not more) and as we say here in the deep South, "Way Yonder" cheaper to shoot. The only thing snappier than the recoil of the 40 is the price of the ammo  I do still ow...

There aren't many things in life that I would drive 5 hours to get FREE! I just don't care to travel very far or be away from home much anymore. Even my hunting trips that used to last 4 or 5 days at a time are mostly limited to half-day affairs about an hour from the house. As far as the gun goes, ...

I got them from precision sights. This thread has some installation pics PS. $250 is not a bad price for one of these. http://www.guntalk-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2965&highlight=422 . The seller is a 5 hour round trip (still in state)--gotta think this one over.

greener, you mentioned "drop in" sights--a 422, 6" with fixed sights in "very good" condition just came up for sale (asking $250). Where might I find such sights if I buy the gun and feel it needs upgrading?

Good information ruger22. I did my homework yesterday and read everything you posted and then some. The "under barrel" design is unusual, but strangely appealing to me. It's hard to find someone to say something bad about these pistols. I would like to own one from this line of Smith--IF I can get a...

Re: Federal Value Pack ammunition

I bought a Federal Value Pack of 525 rounds for $18.00 at local gun shop. It is 36 grains copper plated hollow point with 1260 FPS. It is running good thru my MK III Competition and I really like it. Is this considered high velocity? Any ammo 1080 or below is considered subsonic (true subsonic depe...

Smith and Wesson Model 622

The LGS has a S&W 622 in good condition for $199. I don't know much about this model (or it's brother the 422).

Let me know what you think about the gun and price if you own (or have owned) this model.

Thanks

He did not fit in here at all. There are countless forums on the "interweb" that cater to his kind.
