Jim: Congratulations on your new Ruger :D They are great guns. Too bad the Trailside did not work out for you but that is the nature of the beast. Like shoes, gloves and women, they have to fit or they are a real pain. I am shootig the Trailside just about everyday and am shooting more acurately the...

Well, Jim, that is why there are so many different 22's out there. I do like my mark III, but I do have some problems with it. In particular I dont like the feel of the trigger after I shoot a lot. It feels gritty. I have a tigger guard for it, and that helps a bit, but the sear is exposed to all th...

Yes the spent cases are a pain in the face! Got a couple of them hit me right onthe safety glasses a couple of times. A baseball cap is de rigeur with this gun. One other thing to get used to with this gun and that is if you shoot bullseye competition. In rapid fire you need to let go of the trigger...

Hi Jim: Yup, got the 6" model with adjustable sights and am very happy with it. I mounted the ultradot directly on the built-in dovetail using a set of rings which I got from a friend. The rings which come with the ultradot will not fit. However, you can buy a set of rings for about $10 which are de...

Jim: I finally decided to clean the trailside after 2000 rounds. I decided not to strip the gun down for for fear of loosing my zero with the red dot. Instead, I used a tootbrush and a can of brake cleaner. Worked fine. Scrubbed the rails and chamber. I dont think you need to take the gun down for a...

Here is a source for the Trailside

http://www.dansammo.com/firearms.asp

I have not yet gone through a cleaning so I dont know whether the red dot will have to be re-zeroed. However, because of the way it is mounted, I imagine that I will have to re-zero it each time the gun is taken down.

Hi Jim: I got the 6 inch target model. It has adjustable sights and I paid $360 for it. The gun has a built in rail (more like a grove) which the scope rings can grip. Larrysguns.com sells a set of rings for 10 dollars. I got mine from a friend and have mounted an ultradot with them. Nice set up. I ...

Found this on the Bullseye list. Posted by E. Masaki HI MEMBERS. ANY PERSON THAT BOUGHT THE TRAILSIDE RECENTLY AND FOUND THE TRIGGER PULL LITTLE HEAVY CAN ADJUST IT LIGHTER. REMOVE THE GRIPS, GET OR MAKE A THIN SCREW DRIVER THAT WOULD FIT BETWEEN THE HAMMER STRUT. MAKE SURE THE HAMMER IS FORWARD AND...

SIG Trailside

Hi: Went ahead and bought a Sig Trailside :) So far 500 rounds and no problems. I am very happy with it. However, I would like to lighten the trigger pull. Right now it is about 4 lbs and would like to bring it to 2 lbs. Any body have any experience with this trigger? I also see that Larrysguns.com ...

Pinkie

Do you use your pinkie finger to grip your pistol? For some time I have been using the center, ring and pinkie to grasp the pistol grip. But I read lately (not sure where) that only the center and ring finger should be used. I supposed the fewer fingers the less chance of something twitching and dis...

Thanks Zed You may be right. I may have a soft spot for discontinued guns :D In any case, I do have a rugger markiii, gov model which I use for bullseye shooting. I do have some issues with the rugger: failure to fire mainly but I think the gun is also too heavy. I am a big fellow and do go to the g...

After much searching, the chances of finding a new izh-35 look slim. Has anybody had any experience with the Sig Trailsidel. It looks like a great gun with Hammerli innards. It is priced at about $350 I would be interested in hearing from somebody that has one. In particular, what do you think of it...

Took three kinds of ammo for testing. American Eagle, red box PMC sidewinders CC Green Tag With the American Eagles, many failure to fire. On one occassion all 10 rounds in the magazine failed to fire. Examination of the dud rounds showed a very light strike on the rim. Sometimes the dent on the rim...
