Using a stabilizer in BE competition

Being a shaky 75 year old I installed a stabilizer on my Mk.3. It is 14" long and has 5 ounces of lead on the end. It attaches to the rear of the grip and does not touch the arm or body. Pre-travel

Nice job on the pretravel screw.Just for others info, what size screw did you use. I have also D+T a trigger and my reciever for a rail. Most of this is possible without special jigs or even a drill press. Just has to proceed with caution and THINK before you do anything.

Check sear pin

My guess is the sear pin is not engaging the frame on one side(proabably the R.H. side). This may be due to the new grips not contacting the frame at the sear pin. I scotch tape this pin in.

If you have an adjustable trigger then you proabably have the pretravel screw in too far. If not look for dirt or debris in the trigger or plunger.

22/45

For the money I doubt that you can come close to the 22/45. I recently got a "plain jane" 22/45 (4.5" blued) for $ 275 and it shoots as good as my 6" Mk.3. If you can find someone who has one and try it out. I think that will sell you on it.

Strut

Think bigfatdave is right on the money. Look in the back and you will see the strut caught. Just pull back on it and the bolt will be free to travel all the way back.- Stew

Sounds like your pretavel screw is moving and needs some blue locktight.
Your initial adjustment was apparently OK. Readjust and locktight. The spring that comes with the trigger will proabably give you less than 2# pull.
I used the original to keep mine over 2#.
