Grips

So I decided to bite the bullet and bought a new 41 with the 7 inch barrel. I'm not as constant as I want to be with my Ruger. Anyways lets talk about grips. The grips that came with the gun are a little large. I have shot 41's with Rinks on them which are nice. I shot a 41 with Nill's on it and tha...

I try and dry fire every day now. When I dry fire the dot just sits in the middle of the black and hardly moves. I'm a 295 dry fire shooter. Of course things change when I go to a match. And changes a lot. What I figured out was when I first made my dry firing set up, which was years ago, I figured ...

Charlesb, sounds like you made a good choice by moving. The only shooting I do is bullseye so can't comment on other kinds. I stand at 75 deg. from the target. I was fighting with a 45 deg. all last season. I feel solid in a 45 deg. but my eye, dot and target will not line up. My feet are shoulder w...

That is interesting Stork, that you have different grip locations. I'm guessing that your reducing the torque of the gun so your group size is smaller. I think by pushing on the red dot it gets my hand into the grip good and straight back. When I push hard it almost feels like recoil so I think it s...

To set my grip I form a u shape with my gun hand. I then place the gun in the u shape with my left hand. I wiggle it around and slowly close my hand. I now started to push on the front of my red dot with my left palm to set the finally position. I'm trying two grips. The plain grips that came with t...

Pick a topic

It's league time again. So I was thinking it would be fun to pick a topic and then have everyone share thier thoughts on that topic. Then in a week or so someone else picks a topic. This has to do with bullseye shooting. And I shoot indoors at 50' but any Bullseye subject is interesting. Anyone want...

I have a LCP, a couple of months old. It's a snappy little shooter. I like it because of the size and weight. But with that comes a price. Plus when you can only get two fingers on the grip well it's no range gun. It's nice to know that the newer LC 380 shoots softer.

I was rereading this topic and was reminded about the headspacing. Last time I measured the headspacing it measured .053". Any thoughts on this? Would turning it down help group size? I get a FTF once in awhile but can't say the reason is the headspacing.
Thanks

That is to bad that had to happen. I look at that pistol and all the time you put into it and I consider it a piece of art.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear on the firearm. I was thinking for Ruger Mk..... I was thinking that with the beer can shim your lifting the barrel up off of the curved part where the two parts join. This way you pushing the two parts together into the curve. I know the beer can shim works good and...

Instead of a beer can shim

I thought of an idea that might work instead of the beer can shim to tighten up the fit between the barrel and receivers on Rugers. What if you drilled and tapped the top of the lug on the receiver? You could then use a set screw to adjust the fit between the two parts. I think a larger set screw wo...
