Thanks, Bullseye. S&W had no remaining stock, but they pointed me to several other sources, and I bought an extractor, spring, and pin from Numrich. Unfortunately, the new extractor has done nothing to solve the problem. At least 70% of the time, the fired shell remains in the chamber, and a new rou...

S&W 52-1 Extractor

Where can I get a replacement extractor for a S&W 52-2? Not finding one offered at Brownells.

Recommend 1911 for Bullseye Competition?

I've returned to bullseye pistol competition after an absence of decades. I'm currently only a Marksman level shooter in .22 and centerfire, but I'm improving. I'd like to compete in full 2700 tournaments, but I don't own a 1911. If I were to get one, it would be strictly for bullseye competition; I...

Red Dot on S&W 52-2

I'm trying to install an Aimtech APM-352 mount system on a S&W 52-2 so that I can mount a red dot sight. The "no gunsmithing" mount installation requires replacing 2 pins in the pistol frame with screws. The trigger pin pushed out easily enough, but the mainspring housing pin won't budge. I suppose ...

Red-Dot on S&W 52-2?

How can I go about mounting a red-dot sight on a S&W 52-2? Are there mounts available? Can you recommend an approach?

Recommend Spoting Scope?

Can anyone recommend a decent spotting scope for under $175, preferably with an angled eyepiece for bullseye competition?

Bullseye,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was talking about iron sights, but now I'm curious. How would your answer have been different if I had been talking about red dot sights?

Thanks,
Mark

Newbie Outdoor Pistol Match Questions

Having only shot the 50' Gallery Course indoors, I'm now about to compete in my first outdoor NMC. How do shooters deal with the different target distances between SF (50 yds.) and TF/RF (25 yds.)? Do they change their sights to pre-determined settings? Or do they zero for 25 yds. and adjust their p...
