I haven't read all the posts on this thread so forgive me if someone already suggested this. In the future if you don't want to detail strip it, remove the barrel and grips and dunk it in a ammo can of kerosene, brush it with a plastic brush and blow it off with compressed air. Comes out very clean ...

I got to shoot both brands and the GSG was closer to a true 1911. I got in on a group buy and got two of them. The frame has all the normal parts of a 1911, they are MIM but that was expected. The mainspring has a device that will not let you shoot without the magazine, (easily defeated). It has the...

The only problem I have with mine is me not remembering to turn it off, spare batteries are a good idea. It would be great if they came out with one that had an auto shut off if the scope was not moved within a predetermined amount of time but that would just add to the price. As good as these thing...

Thanks Stork, I was on Brownells site and they only offer one type of mount for the slide, is that the one to use? It also says it comes with or without the cut out for a tuner, what is a tuner? I know I'll probably have to adjust my load and maybe the recoil spring but what I'm concerned about is s...

best mount location for red dot
I'm going to put a red dot on my wad gun and need to know where the best place to mount it is, the slide or the frame. The gun isn't as tight as used to be and I'm concerned that accuracy will suffer with a frame mount . Also is there a special kind of mount for the slide on a 1911. Thanks

carbon and stainless
I'm getting ready to fit a mach grade bushing to a stainless slide and barrel, I have two carbon steel bushings from a previous project. would there be a problem with using dissimilar metals in that area? Thanks.

Shooting 38sp out of 357mag.
I've been running low on large pistol primers lately so decided to take the Python to the range. I normally just shoot 148gr. 38WC out of it, does the extra distance the bullet has to jump to the lands hurt accuracy much? If so what would be an accurate and mild load for a 357mag. case shooting the ...

Zero Change
I was talking with some friends at the range the other day and the subject of adjusting sites came up. I said that I prefered ajustable sites because your zero can change. And I noticed some suprised looks. So my question is, other than ammo, distance, stance, grip, sun position, what other things c...
